Their job isn’t policing, its combat and ensuring the livelihood and Safety of USI against all those that oppose it. Their scope of training is for full scale War condition combat, whether it be hand to hand or Galactic Space Battles, or planetary invasion. The Marines know their job to be hazardous, for both them, and those who oppose them. Crowd Control isn’t their expertise, crowd removal is - by lethal force usually. This is what separates the Marines from the Security officers. Marines are typically desensitized soldiers who crave blood and conflict.
