USI:Positions

Junior Officer
Comprising the ranks of Recruit, Crewman, Cadet, Ensign, Warrant, Chief, Master Chief, and Major Chief, The Junior Officers of USI make up the bulk of its population. While everyone who joins USI starts at the Recruit stage, only officers who have completed Academy training are allowed to progress above the Ensign rank and into the Warrant and higher ranks. Positions are generally labor, maintenance and assistant in nature. Starting with Warrant, positions for Leadership start to open up, especially in the Aegis department.
Senior Officer
Lieutenant, Chief Lieutenant, Lt. Commander, Chief Lt. Cmdr, SubCommander, and Commander make up the Senior Officers of USI. They make up the basic level of leadership that the Junior Officers interact with, and often have specialty job and desk jobs (Paper pushers.) They also comprise of assistant positions to the Command ranks but have education and experience.
Command
Commander Elite, Captain are the leadership positions for ships and general station operations. While the Captain rank is usually synonymous with its position, that is not always the case as Commander Elite can be assigned as a captain to ship with a Senior Officer Ranked Individual as his First Officer. These situations are uncommon, but not rare.
High Command
Star and Vice Admiral Ranks take upon most Task Force assignments, being out in the field and gaining real experience for combat, rescue, and other situations which their Task Force is assigned to. Both commonly are Ranking Officers over a Carrier class vessel on which a Captain is Captain over. They are assigned specific missions to be carried out, on which they delegate either to their own ship or a ship in their Task Force.
MajorCommand
Comprising of Admiral, Chief, Fleet, and Major Admiral ranks they command Fleets of Task Forces. Residing on any type of ship or station they please to get the missions accomplished, you will find them everywhere and usually with a healthy amount of USI Forces at their command. Many MajComm Admirals prefer either a Carrier or a Station as their Base of operation. Major Admiral Seccour, however, prefers a LIS,MIS, or SIS ship to the Larger Carriers to provide mobility and a direct purpose instead of simply giving out orders.
