There are many different positions within USI in order
to make a ship, task force, and Fleet force operate effectively
and correctly. Not a single person can handle all of the
tasks involved to handle all three groups correctly, so
the outline of all positions in USI are below.
These make up the bulk of USI's personnel. They are assigned
to the nitty gritty of details for fluid operation of
ships. Usually these make up Security detail, Marine Contingents,
Science Officers, Pilots, Medics, Doctors, Engineers,
and Navigators.

Handbook ]
The Chief of Staff are those in the leadership position
over crewmen directly. They include Chief of Security,
Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Sciences, Marine Commanders,
Flight Squadron Leaders, and Chief of Engineering.
First Officer is the commanding officer aboard a ship
when the captain in unavailable. They are also responsible
for providing the captain with ideas, thoughts, and counseling
as dictated by the situation. They are to also act in
the Captains name on missions away from the ship, and
provide protection for the captain at all costs.
* THis is the start of NRPG Duties in USI-RPG. The First
Officer primary duty is to keep the plots running smoothly
and consistently. They are to advise the Captain on Promotions,
and assist with maintaining a healthy gaming atmosphere
by upholding the Terms of Service and rules of play. They
are to also support their commanding officers decisions
by responding appropriately even if they don't necessarily
agree. This provides confidence of the crew in their captain.
The captain is the head of a ship. They are responsible
for what happens to the crew and to the ship. They recieve
the ships orders from HQ command, and are responsible
for heading out the orders. They are the leadership of
a ship, and are there for guildance and support of his
crew, like unto a parent.
* As a leadership position in USI-RPG, a
Captain is put into his position because of his desire
to help the game and support its leadership. Because of
his initmate role, the Captain must be willing to perform
some responsibilities which not only benefit his crew,
but also the game as a whole. Among these are to promote
his crew based on their development, quality of play,
quantity of play. They also need to do IIR's once every
two weeks to help keep the Game Administration aware of
his crew and their status. This allows the Game administration
to spend less time tediously reading all the lists to
figure this out and to devote their resources to more
pressing matters.
[ Captain
Handbook ]
*Task Force Commanders are responsible for upto three
shiops. They are there as a support for the captains when
they are unable solve situations for themselves, and also
provide support for the game administration concerning
game related information. This description doubles as
their NRPG and RPG duties.
A TFC may play on any of his Ships which he oversee's.
*Fleet Force Commanders are responsible for their Fleet,
which have upto 3 Task Forces. Like the TFC, they provide
support and experience for the TFC's for solving situation.
They are the delegated force of the Administration to
ensure that game is played properly and that the enviornment
is healthy and inviting.
A FFC may play on any of his ships which he oversee.
This is the Chain Of Command for the USI (and USI-RPG
Respectively (*) ) which helps the fleet operate effectively
and effeciently. Since all the players and Admirals and
Administration are voluntary, this structure is required
so that no one single position is overburdened and that
there is flexibility among the ranks. This is to ensure
that there is always someone to help those who are in
a pickle, or need questions answered. This also allows
the Game Administration to concentrate efforts on bringing
about new services and features for the USI-RPG.
